"Get dressed out and we'll get started," Ronon announced in a very blank looking Danger Shop - other than the locker rooms, of course.

Once it seemed they'd all returned, he hit a button and the room transformed into a huge forested area that looked just like Vancouver it had the other weeks with the hiding and the running for the giant circle. A crazy buzzing sound could be heard from overhead as enemy spaceships swooped over the area. Where the students were gathered around Ronon, they would find a dozen replicas of his energy gun. Through the dense forest ran a two-mile path winding right to a clearing where the giant circle sat, glowing ready for student transport.

"You all have done a good job this session. But this is it. Enemy's attacking. The only safety is at the Ancestral Circle. What do you do?"

Ronon himself was just going to stand there and watch them show both him and themselves that they'd learned something over the last six weeks.

[If Rodney can do it, so can you.]

As usual, Ronon was waiting in the Danger Shop when students arrived. "Go get dressed out, then we'll get started," he told them, waiting in the green of Vancouver the Danger Shop-made forest and pointing toward the usual locker room doors.

Once everyone seemed to be back and uniformed up, he began his lecture. "Okay, like I warned last week, we're learning about dealing with teammates this week. Which means you're working with each other. My last assignment was a team of four made up of a leader, a soldier, an ambassadorial type, and a scientist. No one gets left behind on a team. Unlike what we've been talking about this session where your job is to save you, when you're part of a team, you're responsible for everyone. When the enemy came, the goal was to get everyone back to safety, no matter what the scientist claimed he was in the middle of doing. Sometimes it involved dragging injured people, sometimes just talking them into running at your side." Let's be honest, it was more about the dragging and shooting things.

"Today you're gonna navigate a moddable course through the woods while tied to another student in what I'm told is Earth's three-legged race style. If you can't find a partner, I'll find one for you, so grab the first person you see and let's get going."

As students entered, Ronon pointed them towards the typical locker rooms they'd grown to love over the past weeks. Once they'd reassembled in the classroom (nope, no gym, just a classroom in the Danger Shop), student may notice the large screen, posters, and handouts on the tables.

"Now, last week you all did an okay job hiding, so that's one thing to try when faced with an enemy you can't shoot or outrun." Since few of them would ever shoot or outrun anything. "This week, we're taking it a step further 'cause you can only hide so long before someone's gonna find you, with any luck not an enemy. When they do, you'll need to be able to communicate with them without alerting the enemy to your location. Today we're watching a clip of how the U.S. military does silent signals and then practicing our silent communication with partners." Ronon looked over the group, wondering which one would be the McKay of the bunch and end up talking through the exercise.

"I wanna see you all trying hard here," he warned as he passed out the papers. "Next week we're talking about how to deal with some of the more interesting people you might meet up with. Trust me, you might need this stuff one of these days if you didn't already last weekend." Uh huh, he'd heard.

This week, the Danger Shop was outfitted as the Vancouver wilderness. In the center, Ronon stood in a clearing big enough to fit the class with amazing doors built into some trees. They were labeled Boys and Girls. Yup, locker rooms still standing.

"So," Ronon sighed, looking them over. "Some of you can't outrun the enemy. Some of you can't shoot the enemy. Let's see who can find a place to hide and who can seek you out." Yep, they were playing hide and seek. Or just hide, because the goal was to not be found. "I shouldn't be able to hear you, smell you, or see you. Do your best to cover your tracks in ten minutes and keep yourself hidden until the end of the period, or someone finds you. Sometimes the enemy passes your spot and you have to stay, no matter how strong the urge is to try and run the other direction. This is about self control and keeping your ass safe. Got it?" Let's hope they all did.

"Now, you've got two minutes to get your uniform and get back here for the timer. Go!"

The Danger Shop was not a gymnasium this week, although there were fantastic locker room doors just off to the side of the very large indoor shooting range.

"Last week, you ran. Some of you did well, others...should either work on it, or focus on one of the next levels of skills. Because if you can't run away, your next hope is that you can shoot the enemy before they shoot you," Ronon explained.

"But first, you need to get in uniform and get your gear." After students returned from the locker rooms, all the proper safety rules were provided along with goggles and headphones for protection.

Standing at one target station, Ronon then drew his gun from its holster, the weapon hummed audibly showing readiness before he took a shot at the target, which was promptly not much of a target.

"This is an energy rifle. And no, you can't have one." He'd had to kill a lot of Wraith to get his from one of those Traveller people. "It can be set to stun or kill. If someone's chasing me, you're damn straight I'm trying to kill them before they kill me. Don't ask questions, just shoot. On the Earth I know, only military people carry alien technology, so the range here's got your more boring Earth firearms for you to start off practicing with."

And then he went into details about the different types of guns. Detail like, "This is a shot gun." He loaded it and fired it at a target flawlessly. "Got it?"

"Since I've got an energy rifle here and I figure you'd all be as jealous as Sheppard, I managed to get the computer to make up one like mine for you to practice with after you try one other gun."

Survival class was in the Danger Shop gymnasium again, but this time Ronon had his whistle and clipboard. No Barbie, sadly enough.

Once they'd arrived, he got started. "So, we did the introductions last week and if you're still here, you must wanna learn about surviving something. Today we're starting with running. Chances are if you're fast, the bad guys might not catch you. Out-running what's chasing you is step one to survival." They might notice the nicely marked off running lanes around the gymnasium. "I should know, I was what's called a Runner in my galaxy for seven years. The Wraith stuck a chip in my back to track me while they chased me from one planet to the next. Running was the difference between life and death." There as no amusement in his tone. Ronon's gruff voice was even lower and more serious while he described that bit of his past.

"You're not playing the hero in this class. When somebody chases you, you run. You're on your own out there, moving as fast as you can - eight laps around the gym. That's two miles for you kids from Earth. Do it fast and we'll see about getting out early."

If they managed to do it at all. "First dress out, then get started. I'm timing you."

When the class assembled in the gymnasium, they would find Ronon looking much like his normal self - massive man with dreads and leather - ready to begin in low, gruff tones. "This is Survival for students without powers. There's no magic to escaping from whatever bad guys are after you. If you're lucky, there's no one after you now. If you're not, this is where you need to be. Either way, we can work on getting you to the point where when something attacks here in Fandom you can manage to survive it." Look, he had to hope.

"If you've taken classes here before, you know today's the intro day. So, you're all gonna go get yourselves in uniforms from the locker room," he pointed to the doors, "and then sit down and get to know each other or something."

Which was kind of weird for a Ronon class, but he was working on this whole conforming thing.

"Oh, and," his gaze wandered over the group, searching for familiar faces, "Wexler, you're the TA. Make sure no one has problems finding a uniform that fits."
