Hannibal was smiling in a way that should probably worry people, and yet was somehow very cheerful. Or maybe because it was very cheerful, people should worry.

The mistletoe should definitely worry; he had two knives close to hand.

"Today is your final," he informed the students, in case they had somehow forgotten. "I hope you have all enjoyed the opportunity to cook some of Earth's foods and learn about what you can do to turn raw ingredients into delicious edibles. Today, you'll be starting with very raw ingredients, and transforming them into a delicacy - tête de veau. It is a traditional Christmas food in some countries."

He presented his own beautifully presented plate of delicate pieces of meat surrounded by lovely vegetables, beautiful slices of tongue surrounding the brain, garnished with greenery. "Please, enjoy mine, and then make your own."

From the calves' heads sitting at each station. They'd had the hair removed; you were welcome. They were also deboned enough you could finish the job yourself, and the tongue had been partially separated. Hannibal was being nice here.

Sort of.

Happy final!

"Next week will be our final," Hannibal told them all when they arrived. "This week, therefore, we're making something more in keeping with the season. Buche de Noël." He brought out his own, which was a picture-perfect sight of tree trunk with mushrooms sprouting up around and through it, spots of moss and decay, and crumbed and airbrushed dirt below it. He carefully sliced off a portion for each of them. "This is a traditional dessert for the upcoming holiday. Enjoy mine, then make your own. You may look up ideas for decorations online, or create your own design. As usual, I will be around to answer any questions you may have."

"Good afternoon," Hannibal said to them all cheerfully. "Today we will be back to working with fowl, although a smaller one and a more complex - albeit somewhat less potentially catastrophic" sorry, Vette, "recipe." He brought out his own. "Duck confit with spicy pickled raisins. Confit is a worthy technique to learn - it refers to a meat cooked in its own fat. Duck being a particularly fatty fowl, we'll have quite a bit for this, so if you would like to use the remains to cook potatoes in or save for another recipe later, please do."

He waved at the dishes where he'd presented them each with a leg artfully arranged amidst the raisins. "Enjoy mine, then make your own. Please let me know if you have any questions."

Hannibal had had an interesting week or so. Not terrible, but frustrating in several ways. And while he wasn't going to take it out on his students...entirely...he wasn't above indulging in a bit of amusement.

At least he had, in exchange, made plenty of food?

"Tomorrow is a holiday in the United States," he began, "which is the country that Fandom is nominally a part of. Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated by eating a large meal, of which the centerpiece is a turkey - a large bird. Today you'll be cooking your own, in a manner that has recently become popular. Specifically, deep frying."

He beamed at them. "Use any recipe you like; I'm sure you can find any number online, and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also want to look up some of the problems inherent in using this method of cooking. Whatever you cook, you may bring home with you, along with leftovers from our meal today."

Which would be a meal. "Once you've set up your turkey to cook, I hope you will join me for that."

Off to one side was an entire dining table, and Hannibal brought out roast turkey with black truffle butter and white wine gravy; apple, sage, and sausage stuffing; spicy sweet potato cakes, brussels sprouts with horseradish and pomegranate seeds, green bean and radish salad, brandied spiced cranberry sauce, cream biscuits, and a rum and dried fruit clafoutis for dessert, along with tea and coffee.

"It is getting colder," Hannibal noted, "So before we freeze over completely, I thought we would work with a cold dessert. And fire." Because why not? "The dish known as a baked Alaska combines both cold," he brought out his own lovely concoction, "and hot." He set rum at the top aflame and poured more over it, the fire running down the sides.

"Please do attempt not to set anything else on fire. This is not Karla's class."

He adored you, Karla, but you were never working in his kitchen.

The fire burned itself out, and he sliced the dessert to serve. "Please let me know if you have any questions while making your own."

"Today we will be working on Korean food," Hannibal said as they filed in. "Specifically, dolsot bibimbap. It's a dish of meat, egg, vegetables, and rice. It involves several different steps, and you will need to use this room's properties to shorten the time for marinating the meat. Also, as some of you may be pleased to hear, one of the steps is making a specific type of hot sauce." Vette. "You will need to toast the rice without burning it, cook the eggs properly, get the steak to a specific temperature, and grill the vegetables."

He brought out his own, a little dish for each of them, perfectly presented, with a little gochujang sauce in an artful swirl on the top. Except for one dish, which had twice the sauce on it.

"Enjoy, then make your own."

"Today is Halloween," Hannibal explained. "For those of you not from this world, it is a holiday that involves a lot of supposedly spooky things and sweet foods. So, today we will be making one of those foods."

He brought out his own red wine caramel apples. "Caramel is deceptively difficult, and will involve taking careful note of the temperature at which you're cooking, but overall these should be fairly easy, and then you can go and enjoy any plans you may have."

He spread his hands and waved them toward their stations. "Good luck."

"You've all had several weeks' respite," Hannibal told the class as they settled in, so today we'll be trying something a little more complicated. Pork soup dumplings." He brought out his own to share. "The proper way to eat these is to nibble a hole in it, slurp out the soup, then eat the rest. I have plenty of napkins should that prove a problem."

He nodded towards their setups. "You should all have all the ingredients you need. I look forward to seeing what you come up with."

At some point today, a note was tacked to the door and sent to all the students:

Apologies, but I will not be in today. I will see you all next week.

[OOC: Sorry, guys! I totally flaked. No class this week.]

"Today we have a recipe to cook that will involve quite a bit of work," Hannibal said. "It is fairly forgiving, but you will have to pay attention. Also we have, through the magic of this shop, managed to make ovens that will halve the baking time, otherwise we could never finish during class. So, be aware of that."

He brought out his own version of the food. "Huntsman pies. They use several kinds of pork, as well as chicken. Meat pies are common to many different cuisines; these are closest to something my husband would recognize. You are free to adjust the spices in some of these," he was looking at you, Vette, "but you must make at least some of them as the recipe specifies. For the rest, you will find some suggestions of variations in the second document on your tablets, or you may search for others."

He waved them toward their stations.

"Welcome," Hannibal said to everyone. "Back to savory today, and to breakfast. As I imagine some of you may be preoccupied with the upcoming Parents' Weekend, I thought we would keep it fairly simple. So, today we will be making eggs benedict. A simple recipe, with a trick to it - be careful of your Hollandaise sauce."

He brought out his own and offered them around. "You will also get extra points for plating them nicely, instead of merely slopping them on the plate."

"Today," Hannibal announced, "we are switching gears. So far we've been doing savory foods; now we will be cooking sweets. Specifically," he uncovered his own, "chocolate-covered marshmallow cookies. You will be making the cookies, the marshmallows, and the chocolate dip. You will find all the ingredients at your stations, along with various colors of luster dust and a few sprinkles and such, should you wish."

He waved them toward his own versions. "Please, sample as you like, and then make your own."

Today, Hannibal was standing at his station at the front of class with plates of several different ravioli. "Good afternoon. Today you will be working on ravioli. You may choose any one of these. Please try them all and make your decision."

He reached below the station and pulled out a number of tablets. "The recipes for each, as well the recipe for the dough and the techniques for making each of the shapes involved, are here. Please come and get whichever one you are interested in. Let me know if you have any questions."

Hannibal welcomed his students to the classroom today with a nod. "Welcome back. Today we will begin the class proper with a fairly simple recipe."

He uncovered the dish at the front, which contained steamed piggy buns. "Steamed buns. The presentation is the thing to watch for here. You will want to read up on how to proof yeast if you have never done it before, and make certain you understand the instructions for using the steamers. The rest should be straightforward, but please ask if you have any questions. Let's see if we can't at least improve upon yesterday's cooking class." He loved you, Karla, but really, pesto should not be a fire hazard!

He passed his steamed buns around so that they could taste what they were aiming for, then pointed them toward their stations. "You may begin."

Hannibal waited for all the students to file in and take their seats, then nodded. "Welcome. I am Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and this is 'Nailed It!'" He paused for a moment, bemused. "This is a class I am teaching at request of the office moose, and I hope you will all enjoy it. The idea behind it is that I will present you with a recipe and my execution of it, and then you will do your best to follow that recipe and create the food yourself."

He keyed in instructions to the room, and it changed, showing separate gourmet stations for each student. "This is what you will usually have to work with. There may also be some additional resources, depending upon the food for the week. Please, take some time to look them over and become acquainted with them, and let me know if you have any questions."

He went behind his own station and pulled out a coffee and tea service, along with small cinnamon scones. "For today, food you will not have to recreate. Please enjoy, and as you do, introduce yourself to all of us. Then you can investigate your stations."
