Fandom High, the school, now accompanied by Fandom University, is a multidimensional school for canon characters from almost any existing work of fiction, nestled above Fandom Town at the highest point of Fandom Island, currently located off the coast of Maryland, USA.

Fandom Island looks just like Mont-Saint-Michel, if Mont-Saint-Michel were a sentient, magic island whose size, topography, and sometimes even location can change as needed for plot purposes at said island's slightest whim. (It's not. We checked. Fandom Island visited Mont-Saint-Michel once. It was weird, even for Fandom, but Mont-Saint-Michel was just a peninsula an island.)

All characters who attend Fandom High and Fandom U will receive the finest of educations, if you can avoid the dangers of detention, the hallucinatory venom of the gremlins, and the wrath of your friendly principal -- or that of your fellow students.

Some of those fellow students might be of high school / college age in their source canon, while others have simply arrived from a time before someone began chronicling their fictional adventures. We even get the occasional sneaky little imp who's really an adult inside their skull, but their body has returned to teenagerhood through some completely reasonable and not at all far-fetched lab accident with a beaker of Applied Phlebotinum and a time machine.

Fandom High, the game, is an ongoing story about the two schools: a text-based, non-commercial, non-official roleplaying game. It's a large, cooperative, constantly changing work of fanfiction, guided by a team of administrators but with plenty of room for players to create their own ongoing storylines or just enjoy writing everyday interactions between the characters. These storylines and interactions are created purely for personal entertainment, with no intent or possibility of deriving a profit from copyrighted characters or settings.

Fandom High is played via journals and communities on the Dreamwidth platform. (Formerly on Livejournal; all main game content prior to May 2017 exists in both locations. After that, only the Dreamwidth journals will be updated.) The game was created in 2005, and is not affiliated with the "Fandom High" meme on Instagram. Due to the possibility of mature storylines and scenes, all players must be at least 18 years of age.
