"HELLO, CHILDREN!" Thor boomed. "I hope today finds you well!

Today, we are going to discuss Bragi, whom your myths describe as the god of poetry! If we are being entirely honest, however, I would have associate Bragi most closely with... well, I believe the term would be 'bullshit'." Which was entirely different from mischief and lies, of course. But it was possible that there was some connection there to the reason the two of them never seemed to get along that well. "He has quite the way with words, and is often able to make even the most stubborn of souls to do as he wishes.

"Mythology also describes him as a son of Odin, which... I believe I would remember having more than just the one brother!" Which was yet another difference between himself and the Thor that Loki knew, actually.

"So the question I put to you is this: being able to talk others into doing your bidding seems like a fairly benign ability, does it not? One could argue that it is merely a matter of being very convincing! But is it still so benign if what you are telling someone to do goes against their personal beliefs?" He frowned, then, as if realizing the subject matter might hit a sore note given the events of a couple weeks ago. "If you do not feel comfortable answering, it is not required, but if you wish to share your thoughts on the matter, I would like to hear them."

Oh would you look at that? There was an actual Sarah present today! The Danger Shop was a park today, and the class was gathered underneath a tree, with quilts to sit on.

"Sorry about the last two weeks," Sarah began. "Portalocity miscalculated the time difference last week, so I was in England while you lot were studying here. And I still don't know what the fuck happened the week before that." She was maybe going to ask Cara about that, later. "But, it's your second to last class in this workshop. There might be a final next week, or there might not. Haven't decided yet, and the lot of you have no real way to study for it, so who the fuck cares? I'm still taking this as an excuse to have an easy class. All you've got to do is talk."

Like any of her sessions in this workshop had been particularly hard.

"Language. If you go outside your own country, you might have problems with it. Hell, you might even have problems with it in your own country, but that's beside the point. What I want you to do today is talk about what foreign phrases you think it might be useful to learn before you go off and get yourself in trouble. Like, say ––" She gestured around them. "–– I once knew a hero from here so I know that knowing how to say 'Pistä se puukko pois' could come in handy 'round here."

Was she going to tell them what that meant? Maybe. Her pronunciation was atrocious, by the way.

"So, what kind of phrases do you think it'd be good to know, just in general? Ones that get you out of jail? Ones that'll get you laid? The names of all the food they sell on the streets so you'll at least know you're about to eat goat testicles? Talk."

"A knight is more than just a soldier when all is said and done. Anyone can have a weapon given to them and told to kill to defend their lord, but a knight is supposed to be better than that."

Emphasis on the 'supposed to be' there. Today they met in a regular classroom, devoid of barrels, or armor, or swords. Jaime granted the students a slightly brittle smile as he kept on. "To become a knight, you are made to swear vows before your gods--who or whatever they may be--vows that demand you protect the defenseless, defend the weak, obey your king and liege lord... All sorts of vows."

Perhaps it was Brienne's fault that he was even bringing this up for class. Time spent with that beast of a woman had forced him to remember when he'd actually believed in honor and glory.

"But what do you do when they conflict?" Jaime asked. "You will be an oath breaker regardless of your choice. So where does your honor lay? To defend the weak or to obey your master?"
