The lights were dimmed and the screen in the front of the classroom was pulled down by the time students came into the classroom today. The smell of popcorn was probably a pretty good indicator of what kind of day it was gonna be.

"We're gonna have an easy day today. Personally I think we all deserve the treat since it's so freaking cold out." What the hell, spring. What the hell. "Also I tend to find that movies--while mostly inaccurate--will help keep you on your toes in a dangerous situation. They're like entertaining 'what not to do' warnings."

"So today we're gonna watch a movie that's set a couple hours away from this very island that is either about a ghost or a witch. Or a ghost of a witch. I never quite figured it out," Alaric admitted. "The movie is over ten years old and is kind of cheesy so I won't hold it against you if you want to heckle it. Just be nice to the janitor and hold off on throwing popcorn at the screen."

With that Alaric turned the lights off all the way and started the movie.

The Danger Shop was still in its default mode when the class arrived, and Bond was looking somewhat chagrined.

"There appear to be some technical difficulties today, so today we'll be watching a film which demonstrates some of the ways you can practically apply what you're learning in this class to real world situations.

"Though I should point out that I would not condone using them for the reasons shown in the film."

Cindy hadn't had enough time to run from her office back to the hotel for a change of clothes, so she showed up in class in the same outfit she'd worn into the office two Thursdays ago. Honestly, she was just proud she'd been smart enough to check her phone to figure out what the day (and date!) it was so she wouldn't be completely confused.

Though she was definitely keeping a change of clothes in her desk drawer starting tomorrow.

"Sorry I missed class last week," Cindy said at the beginning of class. "I was not myself."

There, they could take that whichever way they wanted.

"Today, we're going to talk about sex," she continued as if missing a class by turning into a pair of glass slippers was completely normal. Actually, for this island...? "By this point, our society as a whole has a much more relaxed view about sex than most other ages in history. Premarital sex, masturbation, and non-traditional sexual pairings are at least tolerated in many places. Which isn't to say that we've achieved equality in regards to sexual orientation or identity, but we are making strides in that direction."

Let's Talk about sex, baby! )

"Today, we're going to familiarize ourselves with how to use some of these forms of contraception and share our views on sex and birth control. This does not have to include your own personal experiences, but simply how you--or even your society--views these issues."

"Alright, kiddies." Kūkaku seemed in a relatively pleasant...or at least not an acerbic mood today...which was a hopefully a good sign; she looked ready for a lecture, though, with two diagrams already up on the board, and each lab station had a model stomach with one side encased in a clear protective material, as well as several unopened boxes and little glass vials and jars.

Tummy Trouble? )

"Hope none of you had a big breakfast! Any questions before we get started?"

Today's setup in the Danger Shop (aside from the customary food-and-beverage station, because that was customary) might be familiar to anyone who'd been to Reserves meetings for a while, or had typical gym classes in your standard contemporary-type Earth high school.

Hey. Don't argue with a classic.

"So," said a slightly distracted Kennedy once everyone had arrived, "we're going with an oldie-but-goodie today: obstacle course time."

It was probably worth noting that it was a modified military pentathlon course, because that was what you got from someone who'd been trained by a Watcher with a certain Royal Marine family tradition. She pointed toward the five-stage course. "This is pretty basic, right? Like, it shouldn't take that much explaining? Start at that end, get through to the other. Race each other if you want, or just try to get a good time for yourself." Beat. "Also, y'know, have a good time, 'cause we're all about that, right? The physical challenge thing? Seriously, that's really all the explaining this takes. Go rock that thing."

"Just try not to fail in a particularly humorous fashion," Maladicta added. "It never ends well for anyone involved." She knew from experience in the military, got it? And, you know, from being written by Terry Pratchett.

"Ahhhh ♥," Shunsui, as always, had a happy little smile for his students as they came into class, found their spot in the discussion circle, and could take up their cups of cocoa, "salutations, my little ducklings ♥. I hope you are all ready for another venture into the Art of Pacifism, because today, I shall like to discuss with you another sort of pacifism, a sort that really isn't my cup of sake, but of interest all the same, and that would be the art of anarcho-pacifism ♥."

Anarchy in the Nineteenth Century Romanticism )

"I could speak of the development of anarcho-pacifism all day, really ♥." Shunsui gave a smile to the class. "As you can tell, it is a deeply philosophical and often literary philosophy, with a deep and involved history, as many of these facets of pacifism tend to be. But you are not here just to listen to me speak; you are here to have voices yourselves ♥. The usual questions, then, follow: what are your thoughts on anarcho-pacifism? Or anarchy as a philosophy as a whole? Can you think of other forms of practising anarcho-pacifism, and what are you own experiences, if any, with it ♥? Is it something you think could be effective ♥? Or is it just a bunch of romantic dreamers attempting to live a life difficult to obtain ♥? What about the deeper political reasoning here....is a government naturally unjust? Are certain disagreements and injustices requisite to have a well-functioning society? Can you pick and choose from the good and the bad, or do they all have to be taken together?

"So much to discuss ♥! We'd best get started, eh ♥?"

When the students walked into the room for their Science class today, they might notice that their teacher was taller than the norm. And less bouncy. And seemed to have a penchant for wearing suits, rather than a great deal of orange and green in tandem. What the hell was Reno doing here, anyhow? He was hunched over the syllabus, trying to puzzle that one out, himself.

Class today was set up like a a dance studio. Because that wasn’t weird or anything, right kids? Right? Rather than teacher arriving on the scene to keep everyone in order, music started to play. Oh yeah. This was gonna be a fun day.

“Mi amor!” Deadpool said, sliding onto the dance floor all Nathan Algren style.

I'd kill to dance like that. It's like sex on hardwood. )

“They dance of love,” Deadpool added, somehow with a rose between his teeth. Yes, through the mask. Just go with it.
