Murdock was looking very serious today as he strolled around the Danger Shop. "You ain't gonna be the only ones out there doin' this sorta work," he started off, "and someday, you might just wind up crossin' paths with another team." He stopped and looked over at each student. "It probably ain't gonna go well."

"Ever hear of the old adage 'honor among thieves'? Well, it don't apply to mercs. If the price is good enough, one team will have no qualms about takin' out another." He gave them all another swift glance. "Believe me, I know. The trick here isn't knowing when to be prepared, in this business that's always a given, but knowing how to get out of it. This is where your trust in your fellow teammates comes into play. 'Cause if you get caught," he crossed his arms over his chest, "chances are you ain't gettin' out on your own."

"So let's see what we can come up with, shall we?"

Since it was the last class, Charlotte wanted to make sure that the treat she brought in for the kids was a good one, really special, but she couldn't decide what that would be. So there was a little bit of everything: muffins, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, scones, and...

Apples. The apples were there because she felt she should provide at least something healthy.

"Good morning, class!" she greeted them in her usual bright chirp, but her smile held the bittersweetness that came with the final class; it seemed to just whiz right by! That, of course, probably had a lot to do with the fact that she'd missed a couple of weeks. Whoops. "I hope you all had a good class with Detective Cooper last week; it was so nice of him to cover for me. Anyway, as you know, it's the last class, and the syllabus says an exam, but, of course, it's a workshop, I'm not going to test you! Not with paper and pencil, anyway. We're going to the Danger Shop for another mall simulation, where you can all show off what you've learned in the class. The catch is that you'll be working in pairs."

She scribbled on the board neatly as she listed them off. "Amber, you'll be paired with Worf. Ned and Brooke, you two will be together, and then Giselle and Summer. Now, the idea of the exercise is that your date has dragged you to the mall to go shopping with her, so, boys, it's your job to try to make a smart and savvy investment impression on your partner, because that's a great way to impress someone on a date, and girls, you can make it easy on them, but what fun is that? Giselle and Summer, I'll leave it up to you to decide which one will be the gentleman in the case, or, if you prefer, you can just treat it like a shopping day with your BFF. Just so long as you all have fun!"

"You've been a great class. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did!"

Aly was waiting in the Danger Shop for the class to meet though she planned on ending up being outside by the end of the session.  She waited for them, bouncing from foot to foot impatiently.  Finally once everyone arrived, she began.

"So today we have two projects.  The first is the one I gave you at the beginning of the term which was to design a plan to blow up the school.  If you've handwavily, I assume done so, we have a set up in the Danger Shop where you can place your charges and see how the plan holds up."

"Second thing is we're going to head outside to just in the Preserve and fire off some cannon."  Aly grinned.  "Which, okay, are basically outmoded now and entirely effective as modern weapons for this world, let alone some of the civilisations some of you come from, but they're a lot of fun, they're tricky, and they're temperamental.   So it should be an interesting last exercise."

She went through a quick but detailed lecture on how to load and fire a cannon using a Danger Shop mock-up to demonstrate on.

Once the students had tried out their explosion plans and checked out the simulated cannon, Aly led them outside for practice on the real thing.

"And one last thing to you all," she said with a grin after the cannons had been fired many, many times and all the shells used up.  "I've definitely enjoyed having you all in my class.  I hope you learned something and had fun, and I hope to see you in future classes I teach or in my office if you ever decide to visit."

"Our last class together," she said as her students made their way in. "Though it seems that I will be here for another semester, so I hope I won't lose all of you to more interesting subjects."

She was teasing, obviously, and she smiled to make sure they knew.

"There will be no final exam, obviously, as today is just another class period. Hopefully, today's class period will be a little more free form than the others and a bit more fun as well since we're studying some of the more fantastical creatures that you might find listed in a cryptozoologist's course of study."

Today's classroom was lined with lab benches, complete with stools and high-tech equipment.

"For this last workshop, we're going to be talking DNA," said Mohinder, standing, sleeves rolled up, at the front of the lab. "Our complete genetic blueprint can be found from a discarded cigarette or a torn out hair; blood, skin, saliva - everyone in this classroom will have left a trail between here and wherever they woke."

"As a species humans have remarkably similar DNA profiles, with only specific areas varying between individuals. From that there's the possibility of identifying biological traits from a person's genetics," he continued, explaining the mechanisms behind genetic testing, veering off into bioinformatics before dragging himself back on topic with a cough.

"But today isn't the time to go into that detail," he said, picking up a swab. "You all have these." Mohinder brushed the inside of his mouth, collecting a sample. "And these instructions to try your hand at finding your own profiles."

"Good luck," Mohinder sat down, saying, "And it's been a pleasure teaching you."
