Z managed to find her way to the library. "Um, hi? Am I in the right place? I'm looking for books. The entertaining kind."

Rory smiled. "Yup, this is a library, so...books live here. What kind are we talking about? Fiction? Non??

"I guess...fiction? Something without too much thought required, I think."

"Okay, how do you feel about cheesy romance novels?" Rory asked with a raised brow. "We have a somewhat hysterical series about pirates and ninjas and ninja pirate princesses."

"That sounds like it could be fun. Is it a space pirate princess?"

"No, they're all historical fiction, though I'm sure it's only a matter of time before a spacey one comes out," Rory said, rolling over to the card catalogue.

"Oooh, that sounds great, then. Let's go with that one."

Willow came into the library with her bookbag handy and her note at the ready. She stopped near the entrance and looked around at all the books. This was both to appreciate the collection, and to check for signs of Hellmouth.

"Hey," Rory said, waving. "Can I help you find something?"

"Special Collections," she said, coming forward. She held up her note from The Tick proudly. "I have a note."

"Oooh! You must be Willow," Rory said with a bright smile. "I've heard lots about you. I'm Rory Gilmore, hi."

"Lots?" Willow looked worried. "Good lots? Happy lots? Able to be trusted around books lots?"

"Absolutely the best kind of lots," Rory said, smiling. "Mostly heard about you via Xander, who naturally spoke highly."

"Oh," Willow relaxed. "Yep, me and Xander go way back. Though not this Xander who has fallen prey to frogs and frankly I'm a bit worried about him, but where there is a Willow there is usually a Xander. It is the way of things."

Hermione has her pass into Special Collections. She hasn't let it out of her sight since last night. When she comes into the library and sees Willow, she may be suppressing a bounce of excitement. "Hi," she says happily.

"Hermione!" Willow gave an excited wave. "We're where the books live!"

For a moment she wonders if the books really do live there. She'll find out soon enough. "Have you had a chance to look around yet? What's it like?"

"Not yet," Willow said. "I've been talking with Rory, who has a wee little vampire puppy and who knows Angel."

Hermione considers this for a moment, decides Willow isn't joking, and says, "Vampire puppy?"

Rory led Hermione and Willow towards the glass doors in the back of the library, and held the door for them, tugging on her gloves. "Okay, cool, what are we looking for, exactly?"

"History," Hermione answers immediately. "Anything about the area, the town and the school, specifically."

"Also security," Willow said, thinking of her conversation with Dean. "Things about protection."

"Spellbooks, if there are any," says Hermione, because it can't hurt to look.

"What she said," Willow agreed.

"Right. By the way, I'm the odd un-witch out," Rory said, waving a hand sheepishly. "Okay, maps and historical info on the island is in the pink section, and spellbooks would probably be in yellow."

She carefully moved along to the pink section, keeping alert for any moving bookshelves or the like, and stopped when she found what she was looking for. "Okay, we have Pirates and Ninjas of the East Coast: Fandom Island by Mortimer Van Dusen, and Transdimensional flux and the establishment of Loci for Focused Physical Manifestations: a Study of Fandom Island and Its Effects, by...Dr. someone. They're both kind of old."
