The Library (05/15)

Rory wandered in and opened the library for the first time in weeks, taking her seat behind the collections desk with a stack of books of her own.

[For les newbies - feel free to have your character come in and check out a book. All the dangerous stuff is located in Special Collections, for which you need a pass. For the oldbies - no OCD threads today since we don't have class periods. Just let me know what time you came in in the subject line or narrative. And Hermione and Willow, as soon as you're both in here, I'll stick up a thread of our own for the SC thing.]

"Vampire puppy!" Hermione repeats, looking concerned. "Is he all right?"

"Isn't that the cutest, most disturbing thing you've ever heard?" Willow asked Hermione, all but bouncing.

"Oh!" Willow said, excited, "does he need a soul? Because I could totally soul him if he needed a soul."

"Oh," Willow said. She looked disappointed. "Well if it ever comes up, I'm your witch."

"Books?" suggests Hermione, because the thought of vampire puppies makes her sad, and she can't knit anything to help... She doesn't think.

"Books," Willow who would so help out with the house elves if she knew about it agreed. She held up her note proudly. "Special books!"

Willow put her note on the desk. "Can I bring my bookbag?"

In addition to books, Willow's bookbag held a few magic items and some stakes and holy water.

"Nope," she assured Rory, smiling. "No problem in an emergency situation."

Hermione wishes she could use her wand right now. "What kind of emergency situation?" she asks, because it's better to be prepared.

"If we run into a dragon, we should get Peter," Willow said. "I kinda promised him dibs."

"Which Peter?" asks Hermione, who knows there are several.

"Really cute," Willow said. "British. Very courtly in his mannerisms. He pledged to fight stuff in my honor. I gave him a ribbon."

"I met him last night," Hermione says. "He's very nice."

But there are boys and there are books, and the books are closer. "Anything else we should know?" she asks.
