Driver's Ed [Thursday, Week 3, Period 5]

The Danger Shop was set up like a regular classroom again, with the additional features of a television and a very angry looking gazelle.

There was a message on the board that read: "Pick someone to start the movie. When it is finished, list five things teenage drivers should refrain from doing in order to be safe drivers. Then you may leave."

Don't ask how Ziva got everything set up. Gibbs wasn't the only one with special skills.

He shook his head. "Don't think it's a great idea, given the last time and the puking on..." Fiona. No, he wasn't talking about her, thanks.

"The Gatorade will help," she said, nodding. "I think there'd be problems if you yakked in class."

"'Specially with an...odd animal teacher." Who knew what she'd eat.

"Aww, I think she's cute!" Claudia admitted. "But then, I've turned into a peacock. This looks a little more dignified."

"Peacock?" That actually brought out a hint of a smile. "Did you have wild feathers?"

"Yeah," Claudia said, grinning. "I also spent a good day poking my own reflection in a mirror. Peacocks aren't that bright."

"So you didn't have your own mind in there?" Griff asked, interested as it seemed to happen so often here.

"It's in there, but it's kind of pushed to the side by what the animal is used to?" Claudia replied after a few seconds thought. "Like I know I'm never that excited about bird seed in real life."

"Have you tried? We could get you some to replace the unfortunately smelly chips," he suggested.

"Fritos are awesome," Claudia replied. "You're just too hungover to properly appreciate them."

"Yes, and I don't know I'll ever want to." Though he did want BBQ crisps for some reason. Mmmm.

Claudia pouted. "You're not a health food person, are you?" she asked plaintively. "All about wheat germ and sprouts and stuff?"

Griff made a face at her. "Only for what Professor Day feeds us. So long as I'm not cooking it, I'm not picky."

"Oh, good," Claudia said, looking relieved. "So you're just anti-Freeto. Not anti-awesome things that come in little packages."

Beat.

"Not like condoms."

"...are condoms edible now?" Griff asked, staring rather hard at her.

"Well, no," Claudia admitted, "but they do come in flavors! And little packages!"

"You should bond with Karev," he suggested. "Tried to get me to buy glowing ones."

"Ick, no thank you," Claudia said, wrinkling up her nose. "He made fun of my shoes."

Well, that made him pure evil, didn't it? Griff tried not to laugh at the memory of Claudia and her satellite hat or the giant boots in the cabin.

"He's a mean boy. No one hugged him as a child."

[identity profile] gudspellr-claud.livejournal.com 2009-07-23 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well I'm not going to start hugging him now," Claudia declared. "Everyone's got issues. Most people keep them to themselves."

"Don't we ever," he smiled at her.

She smiled back. "I have enough problems with my own problems without adding, like, complete strangers' issues to mine. If we're friends, sure, but I don't need to know everyone's business."

Said the girl who listened to the radio obsessively.
