Good Omens...And Bad: Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Lab 2

Friday, September 15, Period 2

More sandwiches and cookies (some of them might be rum-ginger today), as well as tea and coffee. Aziraphale seems a little subdued today, but he smiles readily enough as the students enter.

"Good morning everyone. Today I like for you to do two things: first, I want each person in turn to share the information you gathered last week about your lab partner. If you didn't find a lab partner...then raise your hand and I will pair you up myself. Second, I'd like for you to each tell me about one form of divination that particularly interests you, and why. There will be no lecture today, but I am always willing to answer your questions. Next week, we'll begin our actual hands-on lab work."

Homework:
Work on your project proposals, which are due next week.

"Good dreams?" she asked hopefully. Though she kinda knew the answer.
likethegun: (i'm emo and not amused)

Sam shook his head. "No. Someone tried to put a curse on him. I mean, they succeeded because I was stupid and didn't realize the dreams were real. But he's okay now."

"Well that's good." Pippi nodded. "But had you ever had those types of dreams before?"
likethegun: (i'm looking up at you)

"Not really, no," he admitted. "At least, I don't think so. I get deja vu sometimes, but that happens to everyone, right?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
"I've been known to have it on occasion." Pippi nodded. "I don't think it's stupid you didn't know they were more then dreams."
likethegun: (i'm making an innocent face)

"My family deals with weird stuff all the time. I mean, it's what my dad does for a living. I just feel like I should have recognized the weirdness."

Re: Class Participation, Part One

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, sometimes, when you're surrounded by weirdness you really want to grab on to the normality of something that isn't quite as weird."
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

Sam couldn't help but smile at Pippi's ability to get right to the correct point. "Yeah, I think you're right. So, do you have any kind of divination experience?"

"I have a crystal ball... But I've never tried looking into the future really."
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

"Well, that's what crystal balls are for, aren't they?"

Re: Class Participation, Part One

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, mostly." Pippi nodded. "I usually only use it to see the present or the past. When my Papa and I got it my Grandfather Fabe really didn't like it. For some reason, he had strong opinions on looking into the future."
likethegun: (i'm looking up at you)

"Some people think that looking into the future is a bad idea because you might try to change it, or let it effect how you live in the present," Sam said. "But I can think of certain situations where knowing the future might come in handy."

"That was pretty much his point of view." Pippi said. "The former, not the latter. And I'm inclined to agree with you. Though I think it can be detrimental."

Totally not looking at Nadia, nope, not one bit.

"Oh, I agree that it definitely can be. Especially when the methods for seeing the future are painful," he added with a sigh.

Re: Class Participation, Part One

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
"It was painful to dream? Or what you were seeing was painful to watch?"

"Well, the dreams were kind of painful to watch, but while my brother was missing, I...had these visions of him, during the day. And those hurt."

Re: Class Participation, Part One

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Was it that you were feeling pain he was feeling?"

"I think it was pain from the actual visions," he said wearily. "Dean wasn't in any pain, thank goodness. It was more like it hurt to get them."

Re: Class Participation, Part One

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Sucky." Pippi said sympathetically. "That would have been the point I suppose when you realized they weren't just normal nightmares?"
likethegun: (i'm smug and satisfied)

Re: Class Participation, Part One

[personal profile] likethegun 2006-09-16 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
Sam snickered. "Yeah, that was a pretty big hint. But those visions haven't happened again since, so I'm really hoping it was just a one time thing."

"I'll keep my fingers crossed for you." Pippi said.

"Thanks," he said, smiling. "I appreciate that."
