Intro to Palaeontology - Thursday, 1st Period

Class had received a handwavey email to meet Cutter at the beach by the Lighthouse, he had Connor’s detailed notes that he had been given about the potential of setting up a dig site as well as the equipment that he would need for the class today.

“So this class we’re going to start with the practical element of Palaeontology,” he explained when it was time to begin that day’s lesson, “and we’re going to start learning how to do a dig for fossils,”

“Since we’re going to be starting with a beach as our first dig site, we will be digging in the sand, I have small shovels here for everyone to dig and notebooks and pens as well as I would like you to document what you’re able to find,” he continued, “since we are on a beach, you should be expected to find shells and teeth and ocean fossils such as annomites ,”

Jo was not dressed for this kind of activity at all but she did find it rather fun digging and she did manage to find quite a few shells as well.

Kurt was probably having a bit too much fun with the digging and exploring and all. But he did find a few shells, a piece of what he through was coral, and a rather interesting looking stone too. He would have to make sure he showed Professor Cutter before class ended.

As the class was finishing up, Kurt wanted to make sure he had time to show Professor Cutter the stone he had found.

"Professor?" he asked as he walked up with a shy grin as he held out the stone. "I found this really cool looking stone. I think... that's a fish fossil right?

"Aye, Kurt," he said with a nod. "I found it over by the rocks," Kurt said with a grin as he pointed to the spit he had been digging by some of the larger rocks near the high tide line.
