Today the Slip 'n Slide plastic was back, along with two card tables flipped upside down. This could only end in the clinic.

"Today we're splitting into two teams for some table surfing!" Anakin announced with the sort of enthusiasm that said he would not be participating in this insanity. "The rules are simple: one team member rides the table, two others hold the table steady and the rest of you get underneath it to move it along the Slip 'n Slides and to the end of the course!"

That sounded really painful, Anakin.

"Listen for your names!"

Whee, mingling!

These are very normal shirts for you, Anakin.

Summer and Jo are on the upside-down tables, being steered by Tahani and Belle, and Steve M. and Sidon respectively.

Everyone else is under the table! After the table goes over you, move to the front of the line to keep the table rolling along.

The RNG says the Professional Crowd Surfers win, but not how close it is!

My middle-aged back winces just thinking about this.

The shirt was suspiciously normal.

Stark was still going to sigh very heavily as he changed into it. This sounded like a recipe for disaster, honestly.

"I'm almost disappointed," Will noted as he changed into his shirt.

Summer was narrowing her eyes at those tables and trying her best not to think about all the ways in which this could go horribly and painfully wrong.

Of course, she was all here for it, and she would have never conceived of at least one way it was going to go horribly (but hopefully not too painfully) wrong, but, still!

Well, hey! At least on the bright side, moving that table across the unfortunate bodies of those below it was going to get a lot easier about halfway through the process, when the (very reasonably weighed, how dare you) Summer became...much lighter!

Because she was a squirrel.

She definitely turned into a squirrel literally halfway through this.

If the table-rider ended up bolting off their table because they were still smart enough to know better than to stick around people when they'd transformed, did that mean their team had to forfeit? Because Summer was very tempted to just bolt right now, and that would definitely explain how the other team managed to secure that victory...

Tahani shrieked and let go of the table. "OHMYGOD YOU'RE A SQUIRREL!!!"

Stark was taking Friday's conversation to heart and he was going to say hello to Summer and remember that she had a face to look at and everything. And, you know, he was in a fairly good mood today. That helped.

"Hello, Summer."

Well, considering that, if you asked her, Summer had played a pretty substantial part in that fairly good mood today, she had better have a face again!

"Hello, Stark," she grinned at him once her head had cleared the hole in the t-shirt after she'd pulled it on. "How's it goooooing?"

"Well, I must say!" Sidon declared brightly with a big chuckle, as he got ready to bend down (and down and down) to grip the legs of the table and serve as a guide toward victory. "Thank goodness it did not turn out that I was on the table!"

It would be a massive disaster of extremely pancaked proportions.

While the surfing part of all of this was particularly amusing to Sidon, he had to admit with some degree of disappointment that he did not see the declaration on his shirt becoming a truthful one any time soon, although that would be an impressive crowd that could manage to surf him!

Enjoy the smugness while you can, Summer!

"Fine," Stark said, ducking his head a little but not in a 'I can't look at you' way. In more of a 'my date was not a disaster and I'm trying not to smile' way. "It's fine. I'm fine. How are you? I didn't see you after Friday."

He hadn't seen too many people Saturday or Sunday, actually.

Vi had been bullied into coming by a tiny little lamb, though she relaxed slightly when her name wasn't called, and didn't know whether to be glad or not that she couldn't see Steph here.

This shirt was...fine.

It was fine. It was a shirt, and it was thematic, but Sakaki would always be disappointed when the shirts weren't cute.

There weren't even any cats.

Well. Steph was in need of a distraction herself, and she had been thinking of coming down to watch even though she hadn't signed herself up (yes, she did this on purpose) this week, but she froze in her tracks when she spotted Vi.

Yeah, she was just going to turn around and leave now, hopefully before Vi even realized she was there. But... in a second or two. After giving her a ~~longing~~ long look. You know, just to see if she was doing okay.

Libby had (very accidentally! She hadn't meant to!) bullied her roommate into going to the park, and so now there was a very pleased little lamp enjoying all the open space and feeling quite a bit more in her element here than she had been in the room. She would occasionally prance off and stray away from Vi to explore a little, but never too far and she always came prancing right back because Vi was pretty much stuck with her now.

"He might hear you," Stark warned.

Which was dumb, Stark. Trying not to smile in this context was dumb, and made no sense to Summer, but okay.

And her brows were lifted and fully loaded and ready to start firing off questions about that poorly hidden attempt not to smile and all those fines until he got to that last part, which just derailed it entirely and made her roll her eyes.

"I don't think I existed after Friday," she complained. "Whether physically or meta-physically, like, on a spiritual plane sort of level, have no idea, but, yeah, complete weekend, totally lost, although I know the island did that whole alternate future bullshit again, so who even knows what kind of juicy gossip I missed...."

She trailed off in a certain way and looked at Stark expectantly, like, you know, if he wanted to help her fill in some of those gaps, she would not complain....

“That’s fine,” Will said. “I pass these all on to a friend anyways. The worse they are, the better.”

Most of Vi's attention was on Libby and making sure she didn't prance her way into trouble. She definitely looked a lot more drawn and tired than she had last week.

He was shy sometimes, Summer, especially in these contexts and especially when talking to someone that inspired confused feelings.

"I very much prefer when you exist," Stark said after taking a moment to process that. "But I don't have any juicy gossip from the weekend. Sorry."

He might be persuaded to talk about last night though.

"Someone keeps them on purpose?" Stark asked. "They wear them?"

Was there some sort of horrifying shirt museum somewhere?
