Criminal Justice- Monday- 1st period

Kitty has been here for a ridiculous amount of time by now, so she knew what was happening.

Of course, last night she'd sent out emails to meet in the Danger Shop and it didn't register that thjs was happening until she was waiting for the class to arrive and now she was just having so many regrets and hoping the students hadn't figured it out yet.

"So," she said, when everyone was standing there with a series of clothing racks and dressing rooms on the ground around her, with tall buildings looming in the background,"in the syllabus there was a whole thing about sidekick tryouts. We're not going to do that, but I figured if you're going the vigilante type route as this guy did, a costume would be a good idea. You can express your individuality, come up with your own character, whatever you need to do. So that's today. There's plenty of stuff to choose from-" Because she understood not wanting to parade around in spandex and now she was really hoping she didn't set a bunch of horny teenagers to parade around in spandex. "-don't feel like you have to conform to a certain look.

"And then for extra credit you're going to be able to come up with a battlecry of some sort and tell it from a rooftop, which honestly just sounds fun."

Astrid knew she should have skipped class today and just went to the pool. She felt like the best thing for her right then would just to be suspended, floating, lost in the messy tangle that was her thoughts right now. She'd always possessed a deep, too severe to be called wistful ache of longing inside of her, and today it thrummed like the vibration of a drum, like the discordant wavering tones of a plucked theramin. She couldn't focus on what Ms. Pryde-Burton was saying. Something about costumes? That made sense, she supposed, but what she missing something else? Did it matter? How was she supposed to focus on putting on clothing, when her mind was all too easily slipping toward things that involved taking them off?

And here she thought she was determined to avoid everyone in general before, but with these kinds of thoughts...

Astrid almost didn't know where to start when it came to costumes; she could hardly imagine herself as any sort of superhero, and, if she did, well, she'd want her mother's white kimono, perhaps she could be some sort of samurai swords girl in a Japanese cartoon or something. And as she thought about it, a vision started to pop into her head, of herself, blonde hair in the wind, the silk subtly slipping off her shoulder, and her face filled with a blush. She never wanted to be pretty, she hated it, but, for some reason, she found herself thinking only of what might really actually make her attractive, appealing, alluring...use her slim heighth to her advantage. What could make her seem less awkward and shy, and more bold and becoming? She didn't usually care what other people thought of her, physically, so long as it wasn't attraction, but now she was hoping she could find the perfect thing to make people stop and stare.

But she was mostly just getting distracted by the touch and the feel of all the fabrics.
