A New You, Tuesday, Period Two
"Alright," Fjord drawled, "final week. Since this semester started, you've bargained your way out of jail by doing some odd jobs, stopped Kobolds from digging up a farmer's field, left the Kobolds to the mercy of the Gnolls, fended off an attack from the emboldened Gnolls - sort of - on the town, headed off to investigate why a wyrmling was wandering dangerously close to town and helped to clear out its lair from the shadow demon living within, and then signed on to do," he shrugged, "essentially mercenary work for a sea captain claiming to be a merchant sailor shipping live cargo. A displacer beast, now dead, a realization which had half the crew rise up in mutiny against the captain."
He looked across the scattered remains of crew on both sides of that clash. They were looking a little worse for wear, but apparently Jatila's 'just attack everyone and they'll sort it the hell out' strategy had... actually worked?
"We've managed to strike a... tentative... truce, at least until we reach dry land, which is good," as he spoke, a large tentacle curled out from the water behind him. He continued speaking as though completely unaware. "Since I have a sneaking suspicion you're gonna want all hands on deck for this."
That was, of course, when the tentacle slammed down and grabbed Fjord, hauling him overboard, before one by one, nine more tentacles curled up and around the ship as a whole, and some distance off a large, almost reptilian head rose from the water, opened its mouth to reveal rows on rows of horrifying teeth, and it roared a roar like thunder, lightning crackling in the air around it.
There was your final, kids. Fjord had released the kraken.

Lecture!
WAIT WHAT IS THAT.
Re: Lecture!
I assume, and now the ultimate distraction of pretending to be someone else entirely in the throes of a mega-super boss-battle.It was video game class. If today wasn't a mega-super boss-battle, Prompto was going to be judging you so hard, Fjord.
Bring it! He was....mostly ready.
The Kraken!
Oh, and it's trying to eat you all and destroy your ship.
Even with the rest of the crew rallying against it alongside you, this one's going to be tricky. You... might die.
You will probably die. It's immune to nonmagical attacks, too. Oops?
Re: The Kraken!
Toooooo bad that sorcerer was...Seros.
Yeah, this was going to take a bit more than a few well timed magic missiles there, Ice Boy.
Re: The Kraken!
Hey, it was a long shot, but there was one thing she could try - her suggestion spell.
"Leave us alone!"
Re: The Kraken!
It was a nice thought! But even with a roll of 11, this big buddy had a +11 on wisdom saving throws.
... And was now taking a swing at Jatila with one of those tentacles. Woof.
Re: The Kraken!
Well, at least that left plenty of time for pizza.
Re: The Kraken!
. . . when the final trial of her Aramenté involved fighting a kraken in the Elemental Plane of Water, but at least then she'd be a high level druid with really powerful spells and equally powerful friends, not pretending to be a low level fighter.
Who had taken the Eldritch Knight subclass, yes, but that didn't do much good when she had two spell slots, her only attack spells were Shocking Grasp and Witch Bolt and the damn kraken was immune to lightning damage, and her weapons were nonmagical.
She was able to deflect one attack with Shield and blunt the effects of another with Absorb Elements, but that still meant one bite did enough damage to knock her out, and with everyone else getting taken out of the fight and no real healing options, well. That was pretty much three automatic failed death saves.
At least this would still be less embarrassing than the goldfish incident would be.
But At Least...
Re: But At Least...
"Was there any way to fight that thing?" she asked.
Re: But At Least...
Fjord shrugged and smirked.
"Don't be on a ship that's bein' attacked by a fuckin' kraken."
You were all assholes, eat your pizza.
Re: But At Least...
"I should have picked someone who cared a bit more. And had magic."
Re: But At Least...
Fjord shrugged.
"Magic don't hurt none, but it ain't the most important point of all this."

Re: But At Least...
Because holy shit.
Re: But At Least...
Re: But At Least...
"Well, my work here is done, then."
... But really, it literally was.
Re: But At Least...
Talk to Fjord!
He is wholly unrepentant. It has been a hell of a month, just eat your pizza.
OOC!
