BWI Portalocity Lounge [Sunday morning]

While Ramona had seen a lot of things, and traveling by portal hadn't really freaked her out or anything, she still wasn't really feeling great about being here. Maybe making an impulse decision to go to Maryland (of all places) hadn't been her best move.

In any case, though, she was here now, and there wasn't really a reason for her to turn back without giving it at least a day or so. So she lounged against the wall under the sign for Fandom High in the lounge, her bags by her feet as she waited for the shuttle.

[OCD coming up shortly! OCD IS UP WHEEE NEWBIES.]

"Of course I am," he replied, managing a grin. "I'm Tony Stark."

Hey, he was just going to go with her being polite. Because everyone knew about Stark Industries Enterprises International. "So, are schools normally like this?"

"But, a school's a school, right?" Oh, totally, Tony.

At least they came from mildly special universes to prepare them for... okay, nothing. Shhh.

"You're the expert here, so I'm going to have to trust you on that."

"Jetpacks?" Tony scoffed. "That's just poor design. Jetboots? That's more plausible."

Oh, now he was in his element.

Tony scooted closer, shaking his head. "You can't steer a jet pack very well. Not without relying on the machine rather than your own movements. Jetboots can be balanced out by adding in gloves with lesser jets in them."

"Once you get the hang of it, it's really not so bad." Maybe because it was a suit of goddamn armor, Tony. "Plus, there's the chance of burning yourself with a jetpack. It's hitting your legs, after all."

"Which would bring in the need for protective clothing." LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE STARTED, RAMONA. "But that would be necessary anyway of the user planned to hit higher in the atmosphere," Tony added, waving his hand dismissively. "Or past mach one."

What.

"The math is actually pretty easy once you work that part out. Wind resistance is cut way down."

"Well yeah," Tony replied, giving her a confused look. "Stark International?"

"The technology firm?" Hey, everyone knew about Stark International. It was like not knowing Microsoft!

"Really?" Yes, Tony. She already said so. "Nothing in the news about, um, China?"

"I guess not," Tony said slowly, trying to figure this one out. It would make more sense when the strange guy in the pajamas started laughing at him and talking about the Avengers.

...actually, no. No it would not.
