Childhood Games, Class #7, Thursday period 1

There was a Lily here today when the kids got to the classroom. Yes, classroom, no Danger Shop today. And this Lily was a tense little thing. Because while she may have looked like a cute innocent everyday teacher girl, she was in actuality kind of a sex fiend and this week was going to kill her.

"Today we're learning about language. Kids grow up, they start hearing you talk, they start imitating what you say which is why you shouldn't curse in front of them unless you want them to grow up to be sailors, and it's harder to learn languages when you get older which is why it's easier to grow your kids bilingual. There. You're done learning. For the rest of the class, talk to your friends."

And as she sat back at her desk, she added, "And shut up!"

Figure that one out.

Yeah, Jen had no idea why Lily reminded her so much of herself today.

What? It was totally normal behavior as far as she was concerned.

REPRESS, JEN, REPRESS.

Prince Edward stared! He didn't understand. At all. The poor teacher lady was in a moooood. But what was cursing? And a salior? Had she meant to say tailor? Bilingual was a strange word. What did it mean?

Emmett wasn't sure if he should talk or if he should shut up lest he incur the teacher's wrath (clearly Ms. Aldrin was pms'ing) so he just sat there and looked friendly. If anyone talked to him then he could blame the other person when they got yelled at.

Claire was sitting near Emmett anyhow, so she smiled his way. "What do you think her deal is?" she asked, almost under her breath.

Ooooooookay then.

Jen was just going to sit here, take out her computer, and go over some more of the data Bridge had sent her.

And maybe polish up her resume.

Talking quietly was a nice middle ground, right? Indoor voices.

Angela would be doing that.

You know, if anyone decided they wanted to talk to her.

"That... was weird," Peyton said very softly.

"She's scary," K-Mart whispered. "She's really scary."

Which was odd, because usually Lily was kind of adorable.

Talk but shut up. Niiiiice. John was already cranky so he rested his forehead against his desk to try to nap for a while.

He was going to shut up. He was going to keep his lips zipped if anyone talked to him too. He didn't want to mess with the teacher lady.

Oh great, a teacher with PMS. That was exactly what Jess wanted to start his day with. He was perfectly happy to stay quiet if it meant avoiding detention.

Claudia had no idea what was going on, a not uncommon feeling for her. She pulled out a notebook and started doodling. It looked like she was busy without doing anything productive, whee!

Francine was just sort of wandering around in an I have a daaaaaaate on Thursday daze, so while she registered that Ms. Adrin was in kind of a weird mood, it didn't bother her too much. And hey, free period to be chatty!

So that meant Bender was free to practice his mime routine, right? If you wanted to get all legal and linear about it the restraining order hadn't even been handed down yet.

He leaned over, pushing at the side of an invisible box.

Chad was necessarily chatty, so he figured he could do the shutting up part. And the talking quietly part. If there was a grunting part, he'd be golden.
