Care for Magical Creatures; Friday, Period 2 [ 02/06 ].

"Good morning, students!" Minsc, who seemed a little extra fond of being able to rub his head without it being obstructed by silly hats today, greeted them all with the usual exhuberance as they came into the classroom. Everything was the same comfortable setting, only with a large TV sitting to the front of the room.

"Next week," he said, "we will be having a very special guest visiting to talk to you all about transformations, and then we'll be hitting up on the really heavy-duty, nitty-gritty work of it! So today will be easy. Relatively easy. Today we are watching a documentary,"--no, Minsc, it wasn't a documentary; no one tell him--"about a unicorn who suffers through many trials in her life, one of them including a very difficult and confusing transformation into human form! Pay attention! Next week, I would like you all to turn in two pages of written report...or," he nodded toward at least Blysse, "an oral presentation, discussing the both the pros and cons of the transformation she endured. Looking at both the positives and the negatives will help show why transforming is such a complex thing!"

He certainly had his doubts about Minsc as a teacher, but Leto had hopes for the documentary. He was taking notes, but they had nothing to do with the class.

John frowned at the part about a written assignment. He hated having to actually reflect on things.

And just a few minutes into the movie, Leto's expectations were crushed. This was clearly a work of fiction. He sighed.

The technology still sent little prickles of wariness down Arthur's spine, but the subject matter had him attentive and quietly introspective.

He may have glanced aside to try and find Merlin once or twice.

Firekeeper watched with interest and a little wistfulness, reminded of the first true friend she'd made in this place.

... It was a little sappy. And it was a little girly. And maybe Reno was cheering for the flaming cow.

But damn if he didn't have to dab at a little something in his eye by the end of it. Aww.

And the movie was about a fictional, girly unicorn, greeeeeat! John was thrilled, really.

Ooo! She loved this movie!

Dōjima settled down happily to watch, not bothering to take notes for the written assignment. The book was way-better, but the movie was still one of her favorites.

Sometimes, Dōjima was a little bit girly. Shhh.

Arthur was available. And of two minds about the whole concept of movie-watching.

However, unicorns meant he was in an obviously more contemplative, perhaps even rueful state of mind.

Firekeeper- and of course Blind Seer- were both available. Though Firekeeper was looking a bit melancholy due to the subject matter of the movie. She really, really missed Jan.
