"The book sounds frightening," Belle admitted. "Though I can see why it would have been intriguing at first. But leaving it in the library was a horrid thing to do. He at least had a choice to take the book and knew what it was, even if he didn't understand. Anyone who picks it up in that library will be entirely unprepared."
