Chuck entered the classroom at least five minutes after the bell had rung. Seriously, why didn’t the administration stop such blatant disregard of rules?



“Okay, class. Today we’re working with Illicit Conversions. No, we’re not talking about unlawful sex changes or the process of turning harmless chemicals into drugs.” He picked up a piece of chalk, and over his shoulder added, “you should all be ashamed of yourselves for those drugs, by the way.”

He started writing notes on the board. “The argument follows these structures:
All A are B.
Therefore, all B are A.

Not all A are B.
Therefore, not all B are A.

Example: All gremlins are monsters.
Therefore, all monsters are gremlins.

Example: All Jim Halpert does is cause trouble.
Therefore, all trouble is caused by Jim Halpert.”

“Jim’s obvious fault for causing the world’s woes aside, I think you’ll get the picture. Try to work these into your speech without saying them directly; because they’re easier to shoot down like that.”

He gave a nod. “Now!”
